Taylor Gearhart (b. 1995) is a visual artist working in photography, performance and sculpture. Gearhart performs shame, control, pleasure and desire for the camera, illuminating the ways power pervades intimate relationships. The work revels in the tension between consumption and regurgitation of ideas about women, specifically the ways their bodies are possessed and acted upon by men. Using the body as material and witness, her images expose the violence woven into our fantasies of love and connection. Gearhart is a 2017 Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate at Robert Morris University and a 2026 Art Photography Master of Fine Arts graduate at Syracuse University.
